Aja Watkins Wins BUCH Graduate Student Award
Fourth-year graduate student Aja Watkins has been selected by the BU Center for the Humanities to receive a Graduate Student Award this year! The Graduate Student Awards are incredibly competitive and awarded to students doing excellent work in the humanities.
Aja’s research focuses on philosophy of science, especially a combination of philosophy of the historical sciences, philosophy of climate science, and philosophy of modeling, as well as philosophy of biology and feminist philosophy of science. Her dissertation explores the philosophical implications of using paleoclimate episodes as analogues for contemporary climate change. In addition to her outstanding work as a student and philosopher, Aja is also Co-President of the Graduate Student Association in the Department of Philosophy for the 2021-22 school year.
