Cassie Court joined the CAS Philosophy Department in 2024 after working as an administrator in the College of Fine Arts since 2019. A Master of Music alumn of the BU School of Music, she was an active trombonist performing around the Boston area in the years leading up to the lockdown.
An avid reader, Cassie loves modern and classical mythology as well as a healthy mix of literature, poetry, sci-fi, and fantasy, with a special interest in works by women and nonbinary authors.
Some favorites and recommendations from the last few years include The River has Roots (2025) by Amal El-Mohtar, Wrath Goddess Sing (2022) by Maya Deane, and Our Wives Under the Sea (2022) by Julia Armfield.
Older favorites include Last Night at the Telegraph Club (2021) by Malinda Lo, A Memory Called Empire (2019) by Arkady Martine, and A Thin Bright Line (2016) by Lucy Jane Bledsoe.
