Cassie Court joined the CAS Philosophy Department in 2024 after working as an administrator in the College of Fine Arts since 2019. A Master of Music alumn of the BU School of Music, she has been an active trombonist performing around the Boston area in the years leading up to the lockdown.

An avid reader, Cassie loves modern and classical mythology as well as a healthy mix of literature, poetry, sci-fi, and fantasy, with a special focus on modern and historic works by authors of underrepresented communities, cultures, and identities. Some favorites and recommendations from the last few years include This Is How You Lose the Time War (2019) by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone, Last Night at the Telegraph Club (2021) by Malinda Lo, Circe (2018) by Madeline Miller, and A Memory Called Empire (2019) by Arkady Martine.
