David Bishop (3)
Utilizing the SEM & FIB to Write Focal Attachments for Cardiomyocytes
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The student will complete research to determine appropriate gold-thiol chemistry and create a shadow mask and 3D printing model for a polymer substrate.
LABORATORY MENTOR
Noelle Pierce
RESEARCH GOALS
– Establish gold-thiol chemistry for the purpose of growing cardiomyocytes.
– Create shadow masks for gold deposition on polymer surfaces.
– Design 3D polymer structures for 3D nano-printing.
LEARNING GOALS
-Develop an understanding of gold-thiol chemistry.
– Create 3D printing designs in AutoCAD.
– Learn how to create shadow masks in AutoCAD.
– Learn how to write an experimental design.
