Computational 3D Phase Imaging of Multiple-scattering Samples

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project aims to develop multiple-scattering model-based reconstruction algorithms for fast and accurate 3D recovery of biological samples using a computational microscope built on an LED array.

LABORATORY MENTOR
Jiabei Zhu

RESEARCH GOALS
– Perform numerical simulations on intensity measurements from multiple-scattering samples
– Help develop deep learning algorithms using the simulator generated training data

LEARNING GOALS
– Learn two essential components in computational imaging, in the sub-area of computational phase microscopy:
1) Formulating and computational modeling of forward model
2) Development of deep learning-based inversion algorithm
