Laboratory Manager
Paul Mak is the senior cleanroom manager for Optelectronics Processing Facility at Photonics Center. His responsibilities for this share facility that oversees and supports academic research, corporate incubator, and external companies.
His duties includes as follows: supporting all internal and external users which consist of training in the use of the process equipment’s, develop SOP and maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in the cleanroom. Conduct lab orientation regarding lab procedures, safety, and chemical waste management; maintain hazardous waste sites, removal of hazardous waste, and monitor cleanroom safety compliance. Ordering laboratory supplies, chemicals, process materials, process gases, and equipment parts. Maintaining the Facility Online Manager – FOM scheduling, training, and billing platform. Participates in bring new fabrication technologies to the cleanroom; interface with equipment vendors and users to evaluate, acquire, and commission state of the art processing equipment.
