The BU Center for the Study of Asia and ASIABU, with support from the History Department, invite all to this public lecture.
Professor Joanna Waley-Cohen will describe some of the ways in which cooking sometimes proved to be a way of opening the door to fame and fortune for both men and women in pre-modern China. Complimentary DIM SUM treats and Asian drinks will be served.
Joanna Waley-Cohen is a Professor of History at New York University with a research focus on early-modern Chinese history, China and the West, and Chinese imperial culture. She will come to Boston University for two programs focused on culinary arts in China.
