Abstract Context
Edward IV's son, Edward, born on 2 Nov. 1470, was created Prince of Wales and Duke of Chester on 17 July 1471. Edward, Prince of Wales, son of Henry VI, died in 1471.
Commentary & Paraphrase
in Chancery the king had a lordship that belonged (appertient, pertained) to the prince, and before the prince had livery, a wardship escheated into the king's hand by reason of this lordship, and then the prince had livery, and afterwards the ward died (leaving) his heir within age (infant), being in the king's wardship
and the opinion of all (was) clearly that the prince would have this wardship, because the lordship by the reason of which this wardship came in (devient), was in the prince by the livery before he (first king's infant ward) died
and also it was held by them all at the same time where the king had wardship by reason of wardship (wardship of a wardship), and the first ward (infant heir) came to his full age, and the king made livery (delivery) to him, and then the other ward by reason of wardship (ward's ward) died, his heir within age, that the king would not have the wardship of this last heir (ward's ward's ward) because oby the livery made to the first heir (now of age) his (the king's) right and prerogative were gone (ended), etc.
