Multipurpose Global Hubs

A group of globally engaged faculty led by Vice President and Associate Provost for Global Programs Willis Wang  is exploring the idea of establishing a small number of multipurpose global hubs. These hubs would be strategically located sites where we could co-locate services and engagement opportunities for current and prospective students, alumni, and faculty—from study-abroad classes to alumni-networking events to meetings between researchers and local partners.

Strategic Approaches to Online Education at Scale

University Provost Jean Morrison and President Robert A. Brown are leading an effort to determine whether we should expand our online program offerings. Key questions include how this would support BU’s overall mission of high-quality residential education and how it might expand educational access to a wider range of students.

Post-COVID to 2030 Residential Experience

Throughout spring 2021, a working group led by Associate Provost for Undergraduate Affairs ad interim Sue Kennedy has considered the question of what the residential educational experience will look like as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. Are there things we have learned throughout the pandemic that can improve the students’ educational experience and outcomes moving forward, even as we return to BU’s signature residential education? The group is exploring short-term recommendations that could be implemented as soon as fall 2021 as well as bigger ideas that will take longer to adopt.
