Research on Tap: Aging

  • Starts: 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025
  • Ends: 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025

How does aging work at the biological level? What can we do to promote health as we grow older? And what is the latest science on extending human vitality? As the global population ages rapidly, with those over 60 expected to double by 2050, the need for breakthroughs in aging research is more urgent than ever. In fact, age-related diseases like Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular conditions, and diabetes now account for over 70 percent of healthcare costs worldwide. BU has long been a community leader in aging research and recently established the Center for Aging Research to foster collaboration among researchers across campuses.

Join us for a Research on Tap on the biology of aging, where BU researchers will share their work on slowing, reversing, and preventing age-related diseases. From molecular studies to large-scale projects like the New England Centenarian Study, BU’s research is expanding our understanding of longevity and health. This event offers a chance to hear from scientists in the field and engage in discussions about where aging research is headed next.
