Ph.D. Candidate
Dylan entered the Ph.D. program in the Fall of 2022 with a focus in political theory and international political economy. He earned his B.A. in Political Science and Film from Vassar College in 2020, where his undergraduate thesis was awarded the Ida Frank Guttman prize for the best thesis in political science. Dylan’s current research interests center around the climate crisis, the growth-degrowth debate, critical theory, the critique of political economy, and the political nature of and struggle over time. He is currently writing a piece exploring the historical confluence and importance of the steam engine and the mechanical clock in the development of capitalism’s unique relationship to the natural world, and what this can tell us about the distinctly temporal character of the climate crisis.
