The faculty director provides leadership and support for the Trustee Scholars undergraduate program and student community. The program’s faculty director works closely with the associate provost for undergraduate affairs and also chairs the faculty selection committee, which works to recruit a diverse and diversely talented group of extraordinary students each year.
The Trustee Scholarship is Boston University’s most distinguished merit scholarship available to incoming students, and the program welcomes approximately 20 undergraduate students each year. Selected students often have exceptional academic credentials and are intellectually and creatively adventurous, demonstrating viewpoints, experiences, and achievements beyond the usual. The Trustee Scholars Program provides a unique campus community, enabling students to pursue their passions across any field or curriculum. The program provides opportunities that promote a culturally, socially, and intellectually rich experience for these students while at BU.
The next faculty director of the Trustee Scholars Program will have the opportunity to build on the robust program foundation and cultivate new engaging opportunities for Boston University Trustee Scholars. Through thoughtful leadership and collaborative planning in a role that connects across the university, the faculty director will oversee all aspects of the program, including overseeing the selection of Trustee Scholarship awardees each year, connecting students with academic resources, developing an active and engaging mentoring program, guiding students to take full advantage of university opportunities, and designing a rich program of activities to meaningfully connect students with faculty across the campus.
