VCIC & G51 Info Session

  • Starts: 5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2016
  • Ends: 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2016
There are some exciting experiential learning opportunities in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Business Planning and Venture Capital we'd like to discuss on the evening of Wednesday, September 14th, from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Apply what you're learning in the classroom to real-world entrepreneurial challenges and opportunities! a) G-51 Venture Capital Internship Program b) Venture Capital Investment Competition Program These activities are not mutually exclusive in that you can become involved in just one or more than one. To respond to any of the opportunities, please submit a resume and a cover letter to faculty member Greg Stoller at gstoller@bu.edu by no later than Sunday, September 18th at 12 noon. The opportunities are: 1. The G-51 Venture Capital Internship (4 open spots - Fall Semester) Work with a boutique Venture Capital firm reviewing startup business plans, conducting deal flow review, and communicating directly with entrepreneur teams. Under the tutelage of faculty member Greg Stoller and the G-51 partners, students will get firsthand experience evaluating early stage companies and contributing investment recommendations to a highly successful firm investing in high growth businesses or finding funding for start-ups through their network. Students who have strong demonstrated finance skills and a passion for entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply, but all backgrounds are welcome. 2. The Venture Capital Investment Competition (Seeking at least 5 students – Fall & Spring) Represent Questrom as a “Venture Capitalist!” Students can act as venture capitalists during an elevator pitch competition to be held on campus, competing with other graduate schools. They will choose the best entrepreneur presentations and negotiate mock term sheets for investment. This competition incorporates venture capital related readings and participation in a local competition in the fall, as well as a regional competition in the spring. Last year Questrom won its regional competition and came in top 13 in the world!
