Digital Humanities Seminar: Money vs. Time
- Starts: 9:00 am on Thursday, November 3, 2016
- Ends: 11:00 am on Thursday, November 3, 2016
This experimental seminar is devoted to learning about and developing Digital Humanities (DH) project proposals. This week's seminar is on "Money vs. Time: a discussion about budgets," featuring guests Domenic Screnci (Director, Digital Learning and Innovation), Frederick Jansen (SAIL, Hariri Institute), San Tran (Project Analyst and Coordinator, SAIL, Hariri Institute), and Art Efremkin (Principal Consultant, Prela LLC). The seminar meets weekly during the Fall 2016 semester; participants include faculty, graduate students, and resource people. Meetings consist of guided discussion with experienced DH practitioners and software engineers; topics include audience, types of data, interactivity, submission, and sustainability. Participants learn about developing a DH project from the ground up, explore ideas with other seminar participants, and work towards developing a DH proposal. The two final meetings of the seminar are devoted to presenting project pitches. Regular participation is limited to applicants selected. If you are interested in attending a particular session as a guest, please contact the seminar coordinator, Andrea Berlin (aberlin@bu.edu).
