  • Ends: 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018
Join us for a screening of “Enough with Catcalling” (Brazil, 2018, 73 minutes). Directed by Amanda Kamanchek and Fernanda Frazão and produced by Brodagem Films, the documentary traces a narrative composed of three moments: the use of glasses with a hidden camera, used by women in their daily life; the life of three characters from different cities (Brasília, São Paulo and Salvador); and the dialogue with specialists on harassment, identities, sexuality, participation and social mobilization, and masculinities. “Enough with Catcalling” makes explicit how the participation of women in urban space is marked by insecurity. The film tells the story of Raquel, Rosa and Teresa, who live in three different Brazilian cities and through activism, art and poetry, resist and propose new ways of living in the public space. Co-sponsored by the BU Initiative on Cities and the BU Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program. Free and open to the public.
