Amy Barrett

Assistant Provost, Academic Space Planning

Amy Barrett has worked on the Charles River Campus since 2000, beginning at the College of Fine Arts, where she served as Operations Manager. Amy joined the Office of the Provost in 2008 as Director of Academic Facilities. In that role, she worked with all schools and colleges on space planning and helped to coordinate all renovation requests for the Charles River Campus. As Assistant Provost for Academic Space Planning, she works closely with Deans and academic leadership to develop master plans for the schools and colleges, as well as on general campus planning to ensure that current and future needs are met.

At BU, Amy serves on the University Council Committee on Planning, the BU Security Council, the University Accessibility Committee, the Campus Sustainability Steering Committee, and the Classroom Management Steering Committee. She is co-chair of the S.P.A.C.E. Operations subcommittee and is also a member of the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), a professional organization for higher education leaders who are responsible for facilitating integrated planning on their campuses.

Amy earned her BM from Northwestern University and her MM from Boston University in 2002.
