Dr. Daniel Fulford is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the departments of Rehabilitation SciencesOccupational Therapy, and Psychological & Brain Sciences at BU. He is also affiliated with Graduate Medical Sciences, Mental Health Counseling/Behavioral MedicineBehavioral Neuroscience, and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience.

Dr. Fulford conducts lab- and field-based studies to better understand problems in motivation and emotion among people with mental illness. A key focus of his work is on using smartphones as tools for sampling experiences in daily life, including of social isolation and loneliness. Dr. Fulford is Principal Investigator on federally-funded grants using mobile assessment and intervention. He serves as grant reviewer at federal agencies (e.g., NIH), is a consulting and associate editor for several flagship academic journals.
