Jonathan Katz

Director of Strategic Branding and Global Experience, Lecturer at the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration

Jonathan Katz is a member of the full-time faculty and teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in strategic branding, experiential marketing and dynamic communication at Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (SHA). As Director of Strategic Branding and Global Experience, Jonathan provides leadership for the school’s branding and cross-cultural initiatives. These activities include introducing and promoting SHA’s Experience Innovation position that showcases how, by focusing on human interaction, hospitality can be used to solve problems and address individual, organizational and societal needs. This evolved definition of hospitality also broadens its application from hotels, restaurants and travel and tourism to virtually any enterprise where people and profit matter. His responsibilities also include cultivating opportunities where our SHA and greater BU community can share personal, academic and professional experiences to gain a greater appreciation of cultural similarities and differences. Jonathan serves as the faculty liaison for SHA’s Parent Advisory Council and the BU SHA Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Chapter. He is also a contributor to the online, academic journal, Boston Hospitality Review.
