Mary Churchill
Associate Dean, Higher Education Administration Adjunct Professor, Wheelock College of Education & Human Development
Dr. Churchill is Associate Dean and Director of the Higher Education Administration program at Wheelock College. Churchill served as Chief of Policy for Mayor Kim Janey in Boston and has held leadership roles in universities and colleges in New England for over thirty years. She currently serves as a trustee at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, a 4-year minority-serving college in Boston. Churchill co-chairs the Boston Career and College Pathways Partnership focused on early college and workforce development for high school students.
She serves as an advisor for the American Council of Education’s (ACE) Learner Success Lab and is on the board of ACE’s Women’s Network Executive Council. She is the creator of University of Venus at Inside Higher Ed and has written for The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Guardian (UK), and The Washington Post. Churchill co-authored When Colleges Close: Leading in a Time of Crisis (Johns Hopkins University Press) with David Chard.
