Professor Stephen Esposito is an associate professor of classical studies who received his PhD in the subject from Johns Hopkins University in 1984. He is currently teaching courses on ancient Greek and Roman society and literature. Professor Esposito is the author of Sophocles’ Trachiniae: Translation, Interpretative Essays, and Notes and Thucydides’ Peloponnesian War: a commentary on selections from the ancient Greek text among others. Professor Esposito is the recipient of scholarships to study 16th and 17th century editions of Greek drama in Padova, Italy as well as the great fresco at the Villa of the Mysteries in Pompeii for 3 weeks.
