Custom Programs in Entrepreneurship

BU provides extraordinary experiences for young executives and graduate students from around the globe. Participants have the opportunity to experiment and practice in Boston’s innovative ecosystem as part of a custom-designed, high-intensity entrepreneurship accelerator.

Since 2002, the Norway Entrepreneurship Program at BU has partnered with the University of Oslo’s School of Entrepreneurship, Gründerskolen, to offer a unique, cutting-edge learning experience for aspiring young entrepreneurs from Norway. Strongly supported by the Norwegian government, the program is guided by a bold vision to re-engineer entrepreneurship in Norway, positioning it as a center of excellence for technology and business innovation. The program brings together outstanding graduate students from across the country and across fields: engineering, computer science, nanotechnology, political science, industrial design, and finance.

Global Entrepreneurship programs at Questrom offer young entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn from world-renowned faculty and the groundbreaking research they conduct. Students go beyond the classroom, too, diving into Boston’s extraordinary ecosystem as interns and researchers. During their time here, they gain the practical tools and intellectual insights they need to launch their new venture ideas.

Gründerskolen’s curriculum is complemented by a 12-week overseas academic component at BU Questrom. It combines classwork in entrepreneurial management with placement as a researcher in an incubator environment or an intern at a local startup. The results are striking: more than 400 students have completed the program since its inception, and many have gone on to found their own startups. They tell us that their time at Questrom was a pivotal and transformational experience.

A trip to Boston is a trip to an innovation capital. During their time at Questrom, students will engage with professors who are leaders in their fields and gain an understanding of best practices, as well as the forces shaping the global economy. Students will have the opportunity to explore local companies that are redefining business in Massachusetts, the nation, and the world.

Flexible Learning Formats

Questrom can combine several learning methods to provide an integrated and powerful learning experience. Plus, programs can take place anywhere around the world—either in person or virtually. It’s all about what suits your students best.

A typical program takes place in our state-of-the-art facilities at the Questrom School of Business in Boston. The educational experience combines case discussion, lecture, simulation, role-play, group projects, and coaching.

BU faculty and staff are deeply connected to transformational corporations and organizations in and around the city. University programs often include site visits to local companies and innovation centers as part of an immersive curriculum.

Our programs can take place at a location of your choice. Delivery at the participants’ home campus provides continuity with other coursework and time efficiency for student groups.

BU can provide two types of e-learning experiences—on-demand or virtual live learning. Faculty use our state-of-the-art media studios to synchronously link with participants across the globe to teach in an environment closely resembling the classroom.

Our learning platform is customizable, collaborative, and ready-to-go for learning as you like it. We can digitally deliver our leading curriculum to your students, and even bundle it with webinars, discussions, assessments, and more. These self-paced solutions can be delivered to both individuals and cohorts.

Universities may choose to combine online sessions (Questrom Digital self-paced courses or synchronously delivered sessions) with on-campus sessions in a complete program design. These custom-designed programs augment face-to-face classroom sessions with online preparation or follow-up work and are well-suited to international audiences.
