David Frew

David is in his twelfth year with the Boston University Questrom School of Business and his eighth year serving as the school’s Assistant Dean for Development and Alumni Relations. In his role, Dave works closely with Dean Susan Fournier and her leadership team to create fundraising and engagement opportunities for an array of communities- including, but not limited to, alumni, family, friends, corporate, and foundation- to enjoy mutually beneficial relationships with the business school.

Performing in several capacities since 2012, Dave and BU’s fundraising and alumni relations professionals have secured nearly $125 million (USD) in cash support for the school, with an additional $40 million (USD) in pledges due in the coming years. Questrom’s fundraising highlights over the last ten years include the naming gift to become the Allen and Kelli Questrom School of Business, the creation of the Harry Susilo Institute for Ethics in a Global Economy, more than $40 million (USD) in support of academic institutes, 20+ endowed faculty funds to support both tenure track and teaching track positions and research; and, more than 50 scholarship/financial aid funds to support students’ pursuit of a Boston University Questrom School of Business education.

During his almost 20-year career in development, Dave has also worked for his high school and collegiate alma maters, Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury, MA, and Tufts University in Medford, MA.

Dave received a BA from Tufts University with Spanish and Political Science degrees. He and his wife, Kelly (Questrom MBA’10), and their three children, Hannah (13), Lily (11), and Patrick (5), live in North Reading, MA.
