MS in Business Analytics
Senior Associate, Deal Analytics, PwC
“There was certainly a little bit of a learning curve, with programming languages and machine learning models and being able to use these tools in a business environment, but that’s exactly what the MSBA program is designed for.”
With a Boston College bachelor’s degree in economics and philosophy and a few years’ experience in sales at a startup company, Jordan was ready to move into analytics, a field that always interested him. But to launch his new career, he needed more technical knowledge and skills. He turned to Questrom’s MSBA program for help.
“I always knew I wanted to get back into analytics at some point early in my career, since I love working with data,” Jordan says. “There was certainly a little bit of a learning curve, with programming languages and machine learning models and being able to use these tools in a business environment, but that’s exactly what the MSBA program is designed for.”
Jordan chose Questrom because he knew the MSBA program would prepare him to work in the field and the school’s vast alumni network and exceptional faculty would provide him with strong career connections. And he was right.
Today, Jordan is a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of three Questrom MSBA grads hired by the global consulting firm this year. Jordan works in Deal Analytics, so his team is typically hired when an acquisition is happening, to provide due diligence on the target company’s customer base from a customer analytics perspective. He likes that his new role lets him combine his sales background with his new analytics skills. “I love the job because I get to work with interesting data every day,” he says, “but also interact with and serve longstanding PwC consulting clients.”
“I think anyone who gives the MSBA program their best shot, will find themselves well prepared to work in this space afterwards.”
