Lina Anwar

A native of Canada, Lina earned a political science degree at McGill University and worked in banking and consulting before enrolling the MSMS program. “I like the interactive portion of it and how it combines all the essentials to succeed in any business, but also I like the fact that it starts with the basics, enabling people from all academic backgrounds to pursue this degree.”

MSMS students team up to work on new project for a real business client every seven weeks—four projects in all. Lina is aiming for a career in investment banking or management consulting, and so far, she’s been able to collaborate with clients in industries that align with her career goals. “I worked with the U.S. BANK on the commercial side and Silicon Valley Bank on the private side, which has helped me gain real banking experience while also completing a business degree.”

The Questrom MSMS is fast-paced and intense, but it’s not all work and no play. “The MSMS is more than just work and finding a job,” Lina says. “It’s also about having fun and making connections with your classmates. You learn business skills, but also life skills that will help you become a better teammate, leader, and person. The program might be intense (some modules more than others), but there’s always a fun activity or event planned—and there’s literally no other place you’ll feel more supported and listened to than here!”
