Paul Harrington has led diverse global teams in multiple market contexts: public and private sector; high-end advisory services; operating executive; and information technology/systems integration and business process outsourcing (BPO). He has experience leading business development, capture and proposal teams, as well as delivering growth-focused consulting to Fortune 50 organizations. Paul’s business development experience includes the U.S. (federal, state, local governments) as well as other markets around the world (e.g., Australia, U.K., EU). Paul has a successful track record building new, start-up organizations, as well as turning around underperforming teams.
Paul founded Pathfinder Consulting Group LLC in June 2021 to serve private sector and government organizations on strategy, growth and technology modernization issues. A major focus area for the firm is to help companies establish or accelerate their growth in the government market.
Prior to launching Pathfinder Consulting Group, Paul was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, based in Washington D.C. As part of the Global Public and Social Sector Practice, Paul advised senior government and private sector executives, and led a 23-country Public Sector Go to Market (GTM) team, playing a catalytic role in tripling the size of the practice. In addition to his client development leadership, Paul served Fortune 50 private sector and government clients on Go to Market strategy, government procurement, organization, digital and talent topics.
Prior to McKinsey, Paul served as the Vice President, Business Development at General Dynamics Information Technology. His career has included additional government services growth-focused leadership roles at Vangent, CGI Federal and SRA International. Paul’s private sector-focused technology experience included Johnson & Johnson, where he led a global information technology organization, providing digital solutions to marketing teams in 50+ countries. While at Ariba (now part of SAP) Paul played a central role in building momentum for a multi-faceted alliance with IBM (across consulting, hardware, software and middleware). At Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) Paul was one of the early members of the Siebel Center of Excellence, delivering Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions for high-tech clients.
A former U.S. Army officer, Paul holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University. Paul is a member of the Boston University Questrom School of Business Dean’s Global Advisory Board. Paul has guest lectured for a 2nd year MBA elective course.
