Taj Alavi is the Senior Vice President, Global Marketing at HP. Prior to this role, Taj was the Global Head of Marketing for Spotify. As Global Head of Marketing, Taj was responsible for how the brand connects with new and existing listeners in 183 markets around the world with culture-defining marketing activations, including Spotify’s annual Wrapped campaign. Taj was named one of Ad Age’s Leading Women in 2022, the award recognizes women who create opportunity and drive transformation within the industry.
Taj has been responsible for building and leading global marketing programs for brands like Instagram, Uber and Intuit. Taj was the Vice President of Marketing at Chime, the largest financial technology company in the US. Previously, she worked as Senior Director of Global Marketing for Uber, leading brand, design, social and content. Prior to Uber, she served as Instagram’s Head of Global Brand Marketing where she established and led the company’s global brand marketing org, including the creation of marketing analytics, media, insights, creative and country marketing teams and was recognized by AdWeek as a Brand Genius. She also serves as an advisor to executive members of Outdoor Voices, Lunya and Plenty and Board of Advisors at Boston University.
Taj holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis and an MBA from Boston University. She resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, two young kids and rescue dog.
