Boston University’s transfer equivalency site is provided as a guide to how classes taken at other colleges or universities may transfer to Boston University. The fact that a course appears in this list is no guarantee that the course will transfer in your individual case. Additionally, some courses may not appear on this list, but may be eligible for transfer.

Please create an account with Transferology to see how your courses taken at other colleges or universities may transfer to Boston University, assuming the minimum required grades are met. If your previous our current coursework is listed as a “match” you do not need to submit syllabi for the courses. However, if your courses are listed as a “maybe” we will require syllabi for evaluation.

Additionally, please keep in mind that transfer courses, even those granted course equivalency, do not earn HUB General Education units at Boston University. The BU Hub Transfer Student Curriculum has been designed specifically for transfer students to recognize the work you have already done while still providing you with the educational benefits of the Hub program.

Final determination of transfer credit acceptance is ultimately made by the respective department and division evaluators and through the University Registrar upon admission to Boston University. You must submit official transcripts reflecting your final semester of attendance from all colleges before a final determination can be made on transfer credit.

We understand that colleges and universities have adopted a wide variety of policies around academic assessments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Courses graded under newly instituted binary grading standards (e.g. Pass, Satisfactory, Credit) issued by U.S. institutions that have adopted modified grading for spring 2020 will be considered eligible for the basis of transfer credit. Courses normally graded as Pass/Fail remain excluded for transfer credit. If your transcript does not have a notation that explains the policy, we ask that you obtain a letter from the Registrar at your transferring school or college.

I have read this and I understand. I am ready to check my transfer credits now.
