Erik Schiferle (ebs2154@bu.edu)
I graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with a B.A. in English & Pre-Med. After working at Biogen for one year, I returned to school to study as a Post-Baccalaureate B.S. (LEAP) and Master’s student in Materials Science and Engineering at Boston University.
I am now a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering at Boston University. I am interested in studying nano-bio interfaces.
Yuanqing Gu (yqgu@bu.edu)
Hi, I am Yuanqing, a third-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemistry. I like reading, running, dancing, traveling, playing badminton, going to museums and galleries…
I am trying to learn swimming, skiing, and tennis.
My name is Yixin Mei. I graduated with Biomedical Engineering from the Southern University of Science and Technology. Now I am in 2nd year of the Ph.D. program in biomedical engineering.
Besides being a Ph.D. student, I think I can be regarded as an otaku =). Like sketching, painting, fanwork, some cosplay, and Chinese chess. Dabble in every sport but only prefer dancing.
I am a Ph.D. student in Reinhard’s lab. Originally from Pakistan, I completed my undergraduate studies at Karakoram International University before pursuing an MPhil in Chemistry at HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry. During my time there, I worked on developing molecularly imprinted polymers for the selective extraction of target species.
In Spring of 2023, I joined Reinhard’s lab where my research now focuses on the exciting field of nano-bio interface.
Koustav Kundu (koustkk@bu.edu)
I did my undergraduate from BIT Mera and my master’s from IIT Mandi in Chemistry.
I am now a second-year graduate student in the Department of Chemistry. My interest is in the synthesis and surface modification of plasmonic nanoparticles for studying their interaction with microorganisms.
Saatwik Suman (saatwiks@bu.edu)
I am a second-year newbie here. Originally from New Delhi, India. I did my B.S. from the University of Delhi and M.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar.
Currently working with iSCAT and nano-bio interface. Think of me as a nano-explorer, uncovering the tiny secrets of biology with tech goggles.
Ritesh Bag (rit@bu.edu)
I’m Ritesh Bag, a first-year graduate student exploring the fascinating world of plasmonic nanoparticles. I am passionate about exploring the fundamental properties of light and its applications specifically, I am interested in Interferometric scattering microscopy (iSCAT).
When I’m not in the lab, I enjoy sleeping, which helps me stay inspired and energized for my research.
Daniel Williams (djwill@bu.edu)
I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Chemistry in 2023, where I studied mixed surface systems with scanning tunneling microscopy. I am currently a first-year Ph.D. student in the Reinhard Lab. My primary research interests are materials chemistry and nano-bio interfaces.
