New NSF Login Process is Live!
As of October 24, 2024, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has added a new layer of security for logging into Research.gov. All users will now need to use multi-factor authentication (MFA) to sign in.
What does this mean for you?
In addition to your regular username and password, you will now need a second method to confirm your identity. Here’s how to do it:
- Navigate to the sign in page and identify your preferred MFA method. We recommend using Google Authenticator app or Okta verify.
- Follow the posted guidance (PDF or Video) to set up MFA on your account.
What’s staying the same?
Only the login process is changing. Once you log in, you will still submit your materials in the same method as before.
To avoid any delays, we recommend setting up MFA as soon as possible.
