M Mazur

Research Clinical Veterinarian, NEIDL

M. (Michelle) Mazur is a multidisciplinary lab animal veterinarian who completed her veterinary degree at Kansas State University in 2013. She spent three years in a BSL-3 lab studying immunopathobiology and virology in collaboration with the Australian Animal Health Laboratory of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in Geelong, Victoria. In 2016, Dr. M joined Haman Ranch at The Mannheimer Foundation in LaBelle, FL as a clinical primate veterinarian. She oversaw the colony health of approximately 3,000 NHPs through clinical and preventative medicine, in addition to communicating with clients and managing the hospital. In 2020, Dr. M joined Envigo (now known as Inotiv) in Alice, TX as the attending veterinarian, with a census ranging from 6,000-11,000 NHPS. She managed CDC quarantine, oversaw animal health and welfare initiatives, and served as the veterinary contact for all regulatory agencies. In 2022, Dr. M joined the NEIDL at BU as a Research Clinical Veterinarian. Her professional interests include advanced soft tissue surgery, anatomic pathology, virology, emerging transboundary diseases, and zoonosis. Dr. M is an avid runner and enjoys her downtime with her cat and parrot.
