Call for Proposals: 7th Second-Language Learning and Disabilities International Conference
Join us for the 7th Second-Language Learning and Disabilities Conference, an online event dedicated to promoting inclusion and diversity in world language education. This year’s theme focuses on supporting instructors in:
- Creating anti-oppressive curricula that celebrate students’ unique differences.
- Exploring research and pedagogical strategies to enhance understanding, representation, and support for students with disabilities.
We invite proposals that highlight innovative approaches, share research insights, or present practical strategies for fostering inclusive learning environments. Suggested topics include:
- Designing accessible and inclusive language learning materials.
- Addressing ableism and fostering equity in classroom dynamics.
- Strategies for supporting neurodivergent students or those with varied learning needs.
- Intersections of race, disability, and language learning.
- Cross-disciplinary collaborations to enhance inclusivity.
Session Formats:
- Interactive Workshops (30 minutes): Hands-on sessions with opportunities for participant engagement.
- Pedagogical Presentations (20 minutes): Practical presentations focused on sharing innovative teaching strategies, classroom activities, or resources.
- Research Presentations (20 minutes): Presentations showcasing research findings or theoretical insights.
- Panels (45 minutes): Coordinated sessions with 3–4 speakers exploring complementary topics.
Audience: This conference welcomes language educators, researchers, instructional designers, administrators, and advocates committed to equity and inclusion in education.
Submission Guidelines: Proposal Content: Include a title, a 250–300-word abstract describing the session’s focus, objectives, and relevance to the theme, and a 100-word bio for each presenter.
