Study French at Boston University
BU’s French Studies program offers undergraduate students of all levels a rich experience in reading and interpreting a wide variety of literary, cinematic, linguistic, and cultural texts. French is a global language, and our courses will introduce you to readings and films from all over the French-speaking world, from Europe and Canada to Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond. Students of all levels appreciate our small courses, taught by experienced, award-winning faculty, on a wide array of topics.
As a French major or minor, you can benefit from our world-class language lab at the Geddes Center and enjoy the annual film festival run by our graduate students. You can fulfill many of your Hub requirements through your French studies, and you can count Study Abroad classes towards the major and minor as well.
Overview of the Program
All majors must complete 12 courses, and each minor must complete 6.Out of these courses, majors must fulfill each of the distributional requirements outlined below.
