Estef Calderón Villon is a Peruvian international student and PhD candidate in the Romance Studies department at Boston University. They hold a BA in Hispanic Literature from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). They received their Licenciatura from the same institution. Their research interests include 20th and 21st century Peruvian poetry and cinema, focusing on the representation of social injustices through the body. In particular, they are interested in analyzing the embodiment of experiences of intersectional discrimination and violence in female and queer subjectivities. In Peru, they worked as a TA in different courses in the area of Humanities at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) and in the Academic Research course at the PUCP.
