Background

Evgeniya is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in French at Boston University. Her research examines the genre of the essay and its innovative form in both Michel de Montaigne’s writing and the essayistic filmmaking of the 20th and 21th centuries. Her dissertation focuses on questions of memory, autobiographical practices and animality.

Before coming to Boston University, Evgeniya received her MA in Comparative Literature from University IV Sorbonne and her BA and MA in History from Moscow State University.
