From Vila Velha, Brazil, Fernanda Alves dos Santos is a PhD candidate in the department of Romance Studies at Boston University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (2016) and Business Administration (2019), with a master’s in Literary Studies (2021) and a Double Degree in Portuguese and Spanish Language and Literature (2022). Her research interests include 20th-21st-century Latin American literature, focusing on the relationship between language, gender, performance, and social-political dialogues. She is specifically interested in verifying how this relationship manifests within literature written by Latin American women. Before coming to Boston University, dos Santos taught Spanish to Brazilians for one year at the Federal University of Espírito Santo.
