
Part-Time Lecturer in Spanish
Francisca González Arias completed her doctorate at Harvard University with a dissertation on the late nineteenth century novelist and short story writer Emilia Pardo Bazán. Since then she has taught in various universities in the New England area. She is committed to consistently developing her foreign-language teaching skills, and was the first to design and teach online Spanish courses at Framingham State University, the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and Lesley University. Her research interests are focused on women writers of the Spanish-speaking world. In addition, she has numerous translation projects underway, and has published translations into English of works by Soledad Puértolas and Cristina Rivera Garza, and her translation into Spanish of Fascicles 9 & 10 of Emily Dickinson will be published by the University of Valencia Press in Fall 2018.
