
Graduate Student in Spanish
Originally from Perú, José holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Hispanic American Literature from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He is currently researching the relationship between desire, body and writing in the poetic work of Spanish and Latin American queer writers of the mid-twentieth century, with special emphasis on their confluences and legacies. His other interests include contemporary auteur cinema, Psychoanalysis, and the poetics of sexual dissidence in Latin America. During the academic year 2023-2024, José is working as a research assistant on a collaborative digital humanities project, Mapping Material Stories: A Digital Network of García Lorca Archives, coordinated by professors from Indiana University, Virginia University and Boston University.
