Background
Karina Sembe graduated from Kyiv University with a Master’s Degree in Romance Languages and a PhD in World Literature and completed a doctoral research fellowship in Comparative Literature at the University of Vienna. Her research interests include power relations, politics of the archive, methodological challenges of the Humanities and Social Sciences, and integration of the Humanities beyond academia. Karina is currently exploring social mobility of the African diaspora in the Americas from the early colonial period to the present.
Karina is an Affiliated Researcher at the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research and serves as a member of CAS Diversity and Inclusion Action Team. In addition, she has worked as an author and editor in digital and printed media.
