Diverse-OT Celebrates Another Year of Successful Programming
Diverse-OT is a graduate student group, led by Entry-Level OTD students and supervised by Clinical Associate Professor Leanne Yinusa-Nyahkoon, ScD, OTR, that provides interprofessional opportunities for discussion and education on issues related to diversity and inclusion at Boston University. During the 2024-25 academic year, Diverse-OT held a number of successful events including:
- Overcoming Ableism as an OT Practitioner, co-hosted with Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions’ Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity
- Building Our OT Tool Box
- Common Grounds: Gender Affirming Care
- Hallowe’en Fundraiser Bake Sale to benefit the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF), co-hosted with the Sargent College Occupational Therapy Association
Looking ahead to the 2025-26 academic year, the Diverse-OT group is excited to host more events with the aim of continuing to support diversity and inclusion at Boston University and beyond.
