PP-OTD Student Delivers TedxTalk on Neurodiversity-Affirming Principles
Bryden Giving, MAOT, OTR/L, a student in Sargent’s online post-professional doctor of occupational therapy program, co-wrote and co-hosted a TedxTalk on applying neurodiversity-affirming principles. Neuroaffirming practice is the idea that individuals have differences in their abilities and how they interact with the world around them, differences which are not considered to be deficits that need to be “fixed.” Rather, those who view individuals in this light consider neurodiversity to be natural. In this talk, Bryden and his co-hos Katherine share ideas and examples on how neurodiversity-affirming practice can work.
