Danuta (Danka) Charland is Sargent College’s pre-health academic advisor. She meets with Sargent pre-health students to discuss their professional aspirations. Whether their interest is in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary science, nursing, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, language & hearing sciences, nutrition, public health, academic research, careers in the biotechnology field, or more, she guides them on their career path. In addition, Danka is also the course instructor for CAS FY 102: Introduction to the Diversity of Health Careers and a mentor to Boston Public Schools Community Service Scholars through the BU’s College Access and Student Success Program.
Danka is also a published poet, playwright, and writer. She is fluent in Polish, English, Kashubian, and Russian. An avid walker, she enjoys walking to work and meeting new people.
