What We Liked
- This was a fun recipe to make with friends and family.
- The Rice Krispie treats can be enjoyed as a snack between classes or at work.
- We can make a big batch and store them in the freezer to consume later.
- The recipe only called for a few ingredients and was easy to make.
Suggestions
- We recommend storing in the freezer to help maintain the crispy texture.
- You can add raisins, dark chocolate, or dried cranberries, or cinnamon and vanilla extract for extra flavor and texture.
- If you would like to swap out the sunflower butter, you can replace with nut butters like peanut butter, almond butter, or cashew butter.
- We recommend mixing the wet ingredients (maple syrup and sunflower butter) first, then adding the dry ingredients.
Nutritional Value
- Brown rice is a whole grain, which contains all parts of the grain, helping to provide energy in addition to fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals.
- Sunbutter is made from sunflower seeds and is a helpful substitution for nut butters. Seed and nut butters provide protein and heart health y fats that helps keep us full and satiated.
