Why We Chose This Recipe

This sugar cookie dip is not only decadent but also satiating, as it contains grounded oats, which provides a good source of fiber and quick energy.

Recipe adapted from: Dinner at the Zoo
Yield: Approximately 2 cups of dip

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt
  • 5 tablespoons of margarine/plant-based butter
  • 2 ounces of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp holiday sprinkles
  • Whole wheat graham crackers and fruit for dipping

Directions

  1. Place rolled oats in a blender or food processor. Blend for approximately 15 seconds until fine and powdery. Avoid over-blending, or the flour will become clumpy.
  2. Place the butter, cream cheese, and sugar in a medium bowl. Using a whisk or mixer, beat the mixture until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the blended oats, reserving 2 tbsp, and vanilla extract. Beat for another minute.
  4. Add the yogurt, 1/4 cup at a time. Mix until combined.
  5. Stir in 1/3 cup of sprinkles. Use the remaining 2 tbsp of sprinkles to decorate the top of the dip.
  6. Serve immediately with fruit, graham crackers, and other dippers.
