Whether you are a competitive athlete or training for your first 5K, an individualized sports nutrition plan can give you the competitive edge you need to achieve your health and performance goals. Our resident sports dietitian, Sarah Gilbert, will assess your nutrition needs and help you develop a plan of eating to optimize training, performance, and recovery.

Sports Nutrition for BU Student-Athletes
BU student athletes may benefit from nutrition counseling for:
- Transitioning to an increased practice/exercise schedule
- Managing high-energy expenditure and nutrition needs
- Providing assistance in meal planning and scheduling
Students at nutritional risk are eligible for up to three nutrition counseling sessions per academic year at no charge. Students requiring more than three visits per academic year may continue to work with their SCNC RDN on a fee-for-service basis. Students may be eligible for health insurance coverage for these visits, depending on their healthcare plan. Deductibles, copayments, and/or coinsurance may apply. SCNC RDNs are participating providers for:

Sports Nutrition Packages
Most insurance plans include a nutrition counseling benefit for nutrition-related health risk factors. Nutrition for wellness and performance is generally not covered by insurance. Our performance packages are an affordable way for you to achieve your training goals. Please indicate your nutrition package preference when you contact us.
1: Competitive Edge
Elevate your performance to the next level with individual nutrition sessions tailored to the unique requirements of your sport. This package includes four one-hour sessions with Sarah Gilbert. Sarah will help you develop a performance plan to:
- Maximize your nutrition foundation with nutrient-dense meals and snacks;
- Fine-tune your intake before, during, and after events and workouts;
- Achieve your body composition goals without sacrificing health and performance;
- Understand the risks and benefits of dietary supplements;
- Adjust your plan for large variations in energy expenditure, including:
- In-season versus off-season;
- Training days versus rest days;
- Active participation versus injured status.
Package Cost: $475
2: Group Training on Track
Group Training on Track is designed to harness the support of small groups with shared goals. This performance package includes four one-hour group sessions with
Sarah Gilbert. Sarah will help you develop a performance plan to:
- Maximize your nutrition foundation with nutrient-dense meals and snacks;
- Fine-tune your intake before, during, and after events and workouts;
- Achieve your body composition goals without sacrificing health and performance;
- Understand the risks and benefits of dietary supplements;
- Adjust your plan for large variations in energy expenditure, including:
- In-season versus off-season;
- Training days versus rest days;
- Active participation versus injured status.
Package Fee per Person:
- Groups of 2-4: $200
- Groups of 5-8: $100
3: Premium Performance Package
Combine the benefits of our Competitive Edge individual performance package with the group support to keep your Training on Track. The Premium Performance Package includes three individual sessions focused on your unique health and performance goals plus four group sessions designed to provide the nutrition essentials for your sport.
