If a student employee is injured on the job, the student, if able, should immediately call the work-related injury reporting line at 833-951-2415. If possible, the supervisor should be with the student at the time of the call. If the supervisor is not available, the student should notify them or another person in a position of authority as soon as practicable. The supervisor should also document the incident for their own records, and notify their department’s Human Resources liaison.
Any delay in filing may cause the University to be fined and may jeopardize the student employee’s right to receive benefits.
Paperwork will be reviewed and processed by Occupational Health.
Severe Injuries
If injury is severe first contact BUPD at 617-353-2121, who will call 911. After receiving care, students should call the new injury reporting line at 833-951-2415.
Emergency Transportation
If it is necessary for a student employee to be taken to the hospital, suitable transportation, including an ambulance if necessary, should be provided and the student should be accompanied to the hospital. Transportation back to the student’s residence should also be provided.
