Who is this test best for?

Men with higher than normal PSA levels who have not yet been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

What to Expect

The PSA Density compares the PSA level against the size of the prostate. Larger prostate glands will produce higher amounts of PSA. An ultrasound technician will measure the size of the prostate using Transrectal Ultrasound (TRUS) imaging, which involves the insertion of a finger-sized probe into the rectum to capture an image of the organ.
