The best way to protect yourself and others against severe COVID-19 infections is to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, wear a mask in crowded, indoor spaces, and test if you are not feeling well. Boston University strongly recommends, and in some cases requires, students to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Boston University has a tiered vaccination policy.
- COVID-19 General Population: We strongly recommend that everyone stay up to date with CDC COVID-19 vaccination recommendations.
- Healthcare personnel working in Boston University DPH-licensed healthcare facilities: DPH-licensed healthcare personnel are required to have an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or submit a declination after reviewing the risks and benefits of vaccination.
- Medical, Dental, Physician Assistant, and Health Science Students: These students will be required to have an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or submit a declination after reviewing the risks and benefits of vaccination.
If you are required to submit documentation and have lost your vaccination card and don’t have a copy:
- If you were vaccinated in Massachusetts, you can request a copy of your COVID-19 vaccination record.
- If you were vaccinated outside of Massachusetts, contact your vaccination provider directly or contact your state health department’s immunization information system (IIS).
