Ilana Licht

Staff Psychologist

Behavioral Medicine, Gender Affirming Healthcare Committee

My therapeutic style is collaborative in nature and uses an integrative approach that incorporates psychodynamic theory, the biopsychosocial model and mind-body connection. I believe our past experiences influence how we see and live in the world. I also believe that all parts of ourselves need to be honored to live an authentic and meaningful life. I am committed to creating a safe space where students feel seen, heard and understood as they explore their identities and process life’s experiences. Prior to BU, I worked at public and private hospitals, as well as at an eating disorders’ center. My clinical interests include life transitions, identity development, relationship issues and eating disorders. As the Groups Coordinator, I have a passion for running process and skills-based groups that help students feel they are not alone, learn effective coping strategies and instill hope for the future. If I could speak to my college self, I would remind her that it’s okay to not have everything all figured out. I would encourage her to use her intuition as a guide for trying new things, making connections and navigating life. 🌈
