Jennifer Brown
NP, FNP
Nurse Practitioner
Gender Affirming Healthcare Committee, Primary Care

My nursing career began in Chicago where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I worked in a variety of settings as an RN in inner city Chicago including the emergency department at Rush University Medical Center while obtaining my Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Rush University.
My first role as a nurse practitioner was with Teen Living Programs in Chicago providing primary care and health promotion education in a residential setting for homeless, college age youth, including a large proportion of LGBTQ, who had experienced rejection and racial trauma.
Working with the college age population was my first love and where I feel I belong. I have had the privilege of working as the Symptom Surveillance Supervisor overseeing the Triage Healthcare Specialists at BU as part of the Back2BU COVID-19 program for the last year and a half and I am now so honored to continue to serve BU’s college students in Student Health Services providing compassionate, quality primary care.
Outside of work my interests include spending time with my family, trying new restaurants, watching movies/Netflix and traveling.
