Nathan Brewer

Director, SARP

I am a clinical social worker with 20 years of experience in clinical practice, research, and teaching, specializing in dating violence, sexual assault, and LGBTQ+ health. As the Director of SARP, I oversee BU’s comprehensive crisis counseling services, including a 24-hour crisis line, victim advocacy and accompaniment, and individual and group counseling. Additionally, I lead BU’s violence prevention programming, encompassing awareness events, educational trainings, and student leadership development. I am passionate about providing trauma-informed care, ensuring equity in health services, and developing innovative violence prevention strategies. I greatly enjoy mentoring and learning from SARP’s dedicated student staff, including our graduate interns and undergraduate ambassadors.

Personal hobbies
I am a dog dad to Toshi, SARP’s therapy dog. My husband and I enjoy taking Toshi for long walks to the dog park, soaking in the sun (when we have it in Boston!), and traveling to sunny places (when we don’t!).
