Troy Duster is a Professor of Sociology at New York University. His research focuses on the sociology of science and knowledge, deviance, control and law, and race and ethnicity. He has published numerous books, including Backdoor to Eugenics (Routledge, 2003) and Whitewashing Race: The Myth of Colorblind Society (with M. Brown et al., University of California Press, 2003). Professor Duster will be presenting his talk, “ Personalized Genomics, Racialized Genomics: The Tangled Web of Big Pharma and Big Science in the Pursuit of Genetic Explanations of Health Disparities” at 12PM in room 241 of the Sociology department.
